E-mobility expanding in Croatia, electric cars and charging stations arrived.

In 2014, Croatia had only 5 registered electric cars, and 4 electric car charging stations

In the same year, the couple Igor and Tina Kolovrat, (Owner and Director of E.V.A Blue d.o.o), started the project of spreading E-mobility over the country.

E.V.A Blue is responsible for organizing the “Nikola Tesla EV Rally” and the “I Drive Electric” concept.

The couple’s initiative has attracted interest from abroad, including Maye Musk, the 68 years old model and mother of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. Igor and Tina Kolovrat’s vision started in Croatia, but it is promising to expand abroad.

In a few decades, electric cars are going to be a reality, and the couple is making a move towards that already.

As written by Paul Bradbury, on Total Croatian News:

“The world’s quietest (and arguably most beautiful) rally began in Rovinj on June 3, 2018, as almost 50 Teslas started a luxury tour of the birth place of the great inventor, as the fifth edition of the Nikola Tesla EV Rally gets underway in Istria.”

The course includes five separate legs between :

  • Pula,
  • Porec,
  • Rovinj,
  • Icici,
  • Opatija,
  • the Paklenica National Park,
  • Zadar,
  • the Krka National Park,
  • Gospic,
  • Smiljan (the birth place of Nikola Tesla),
  • Plitvice Lakes and
  • Zagreb.

The average length of each leg is 160 kilometres.

The rally attracted a variety of other influential names, such as Sasa Cvetojevic, first man to drive an electric car through the Sahara to Bamako.
