Day trip to Opatija from your Candy Brick villa
What to see in Opatija
Go for a walk at Lungomare, it is the most well-known path in Opatija. Dated back to the end of 19th century, when the village was considered a health resort, was built in stages. The walk is picturesque and breathtaking, the gorgeous landscape is a tourist attraction and subject of many photographs.
If you walk along this path you will encounter the Maiden With A Seagull, which is now the symbol of Opatija. The original statue was destroyed by a storm and rebuilt by a Croatian Sculptor in 1891. The statue overlooks the sea and it looks stunning on the sunset.
The promenade and decks along the coast provide everything you need to relax and enjoy the sun, but if you brought your own beach gear it is worth checking Slatina Beach out. Like many other beaches in Istria, this one has clear water and cafes nearby, the uniqueness about Slatina Beacho is that it is one of the sandy beaches in Croatia.
Also if you are passing by, visit Villa Angiolina, where the history of Opatija started and for this reason it is currently a museum of tourism. The building itself is worth a trip, the architecture is stunning, built in Palladian style with a front garden and park that hosts many weddings in Opatija.
