Croatia Holidays: summer season is past, wine season started!
Muskat
Muskat is a very bodied rich and rather sweet white grape. This grape has been cultivated in the Mediterranean region for over 3000 years. The flavour of the grape in this wine is very hearty and allows wine makers to produce dry bodied wines or prosecco. Muskat based wines can be paired with curry and spices or sweets like chocolate.
Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris
Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are a mutation of the same white grape, therefore they are very similar to each other. What differs them is the winemaker, when curing the wine the shape and cask. Gris is very acidic and fruity wine and has travelled through a few countries to get here in Croatia.
Pinot Noir
This grape is quite hard to grow, that is the reason it is a quite highly priced red wine. It is pale in colour and subtle in taste and can be paired with light meats or even salmon.
