China has a long term history with Croatia,<\/strong> 700 years to be more precise, but recently a smart investment from China opened the doors to Croatia. The potential that the country has for investing is for sure very attractive<\/span><\/p>\n

Another aspect that raises interest from China in Croatia is its tourism, not only to invest in the industry but also to facilitate the arrivals of Chinese tourists to the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

China 16+<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In 2011 an initiative called China 16+<\/a> was created in Budapest, it has as an objective to promote friendly cooperation with countries from Central and Eastern Europe, these Eastern european members are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, , the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative cooperates with diverse fields of investments but it has three priority areas of investing which is: infrastructure, innovation, technology and green technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Large investment didn\u2019t only built a bridge, but also a door<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A large investment from a Chinese contractor with a Croatian Public Roads Company took place in Croatia at the end of July 2018, the project was to build Peljesac bridge. <\/span><\/p>\n

2.08 billion kuna worth\u00a0of investments for the construction contract, the European Union financed part of the investment necessary for the building of the bridge which covers the majority of the costs for this project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since then, the\u00a0<\/span>interest of China in Croatia has increased. After this, many other investments came aboard, for example, a hotel in Kaprina which worth 30 million euro, followed by prospective three or four more investments worth three billion kuna.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smart investment is Tourism<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Croatia\u2019s tourism is a power house and the sector is developing and growing yearly. <\/span>The number of Chinese tourists that chose Croatia as a holiday destination has been increasing. <\/span><\/p>\n

A noticeable increase of Chinese number arrivals was 230,000 more last year. <\/span>This number is 50% more than last year, and puts China on the 5th place of tourists arrivals in Zagreb.<\/span><\/p>\n

On September the 17th, China raised the interest of creating services to supply Chinese tourists and to ease their travel by creating a direct connection flight between the two countries, and simplified entry and visa procedures. <\/span><\/p>\n

China is on its way<\/strong><\/h2>\n

EU is promoting, Slovenian and Croatian tourism, the campaign \u201cExperience Croatia, Feel Slovenia\u201d \u00a0is not news, in fact this campaign has been ongoing for 5 years, but what is new is that the campaign will start exposing activities and other attractions the two countries have to offer. <\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign will now focus on training guides and travel agencies.\u00a0<\/span>So Croatia should be prepared to receive more visits from the Asian continent in the next year.
